    4 Takeaways from JCPSC Re-Imagining Survey

     72% of respondents want more professional development - consistent with JPRO data

    1. More than half of respondents expressed interest connecting through specialty, with professionals both in and out of Jewish organizations, and connecting with both professionals at the same level and those who are senior (66%) but when it came to connecting with professionals in Jewish life around the country only 44% were interested in that

    ·         Consistent with JPRO Data that people are more interested in connecting locally

    2. 66% of respondents wanted one-on-one consulting - more than any other form of professional development

    ·         This data suggests that’s why perhaps the mentorship program was not successful

    o    Other than leading workshops, the fewest respondents were interested in professional mentorship relationships

     3. Top 3 responses in barriers to having a career in Jewish communal work:

    • Salary
    • Organizational/communal politics
    • Difficulty finding career advancement opportunities

        Work/Life Balance not a top 3

    • 72% of respondents have been working directly in Jewish community for more than 10 years
    • 57% of respondents work in organizations with 41+ employees
    • 23% of respondents were aged 35-43 (majority percentage)
      • 18% of respondents were aged 65+
      • 18% of respondents were aged 50-55
    • 49% of respondents would like to be working in their current position in three years

    **A recent Leading Edge study suggests that the Jewish community has too many titles. In our question about professionals selecting a job title, 37% of respondents selected Director (upper level management) and 25% selected Other and wrote responses such as, “Retired, Dean, Consultant, Campaign Associate but I wouldn’t classify that as Administrative work, Fundraiser, COO, Social Worker, Senior Program Officer”
